At the minimum, you must:

• Be a Canadian resident
• Are prepared to spend the majority of your time (over the 12-week program) working on your startup. We’re not counting hours, but rather output. We understand you may have a job or other immovable commitments, but we still expect you put in the effort required to match full-time-equivalent progress.
• Be available from January 13 to April 12 to participate in our customer/opportunity discovery and validation program, primarily via video call. On average, you can expect to spend 6 to 10 hours per week in either group or one-on-one sessions.

Velocity does not take a one-size-fits-all approach to startup selection.

However, in our experience, many successful early-stage companies have had a few of the following in common:

• A carefully thought-out idea, with a technology component
• The potential for scaling and to become a global company
• Unique intellectual properties (IPs), trade secrets, and/or prototypes during application
• A team of co-founders
• Founders who are coachable and ready to incorporate feedback to grow their business
